Phyllis A. Davis
Phyllis Aubrey “Patsy” Davis, 95, of Staunton, Virginia and formerly of Scottsville, died Saturday, November 17, 2012 at King’s Daughter’s Community Health and Rehab Center in Staunton.
She was born on February 14, 1917 at her family home, Albevanna Springs in Scottsville, a daughter of the late D. Wiley Anderson and Sarah Graves (Wilkinson) Anderson.
In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by nine siblings.
She was a devoted mother and grandmother, and enjoyed gardening, travel, and was an avid reader. She also wrote poetry, which was greatly appreciated by all.
She is survived by a son, Erville Anderson Davis of Appomattox; a daughter, Edna Davis Murray of Staunton; a beloved sister, Mollie Anderson Van Allen of Richmond; four grandchildren, Rebecca Alden Wolf, Scott Edward Murray, Thomas Stafford Murray, and Robin D. Keen; nine great-grandchildren; and three great, great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Christ Church (St. Anne’s Episcopal Parish), Glendower Road, with the Reverend R. Ellen White officiating. Private interment will be in the Scottsville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends in the parish hall immediately following the memorial service.
