Walter Lee Dunivan

     Walter Lee Dunivan, 71, of Keswick, died on June 8, 2014 at his home.

     He was born on September 21, 1942 in Louisa, a son of the late Early and Lizzie (Harlow) Dunivan.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth M. Dunivan and several brothers and sisters.

     Mr. Dunivan was self-employed as a contractor and enjoyed working on lawn mowers and gardening.  He was a strong-hearted person who was always looking out for others.

     Survivors include three children, Curtis Dunivan of Keswick, Laura Bryant of Gordonsville; and Dusty Dunivan and wife, Lindsay of Scottsville; four grandchildren, Brittnee Herring, Michael Herring, Desiree Bryant and Shelby Dunivan; three brothers, Bernard Dunivan and wife Virginia, Gene Dunivan and wife Thelma, Frank Dunivan and wife Jean; three sisters, Brenda Harvey, Pauline Johnson, Linda Keaton.

     A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 13, 2014            at Bethany Baptist Church in Charlottesville.

     The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at the Dunivan residence in Keswick; and one hour prior to the service at the church.

     The family would like to extend a special thanks to Missi and the Medi-Hospice team for their care and support.

     In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the funeral home at 138 Heritage Dr., Palmyra, VA 22963.

     Thacker Brothers Lake Monticello Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Mr. Dunivan was a good man. Always willing to give a helping hand, loan a tool, and could always make me smile. He always made us feel welcomed in his home.
