Joyce Ann Scott, 66, of Deerfield Road, Louisa, departed this life on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at her residence.
She was born on May 5, 1944 in Arvonia, to the late Albert Bowles and Catherine Jones.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a devoted stepfather, James Albert Booker; two sons, Curtis and Glenn Lee; and a granddaughter, Jaylah Fleming Lee.
Joyce was known by many. She enjoyed life and the company of her family and friends. She was a member of Union Branch Baptist Church.
She leaves to cherish her memory a devoted husband of 18 years, James M. Scott; three daughters, Gwendolyn, Lelia and Alicia Lee, all of Charlottesville; 2 stepdaughters, Victoria Scott-Jawo and Miranda Scott of Charlottesville; a stepson, Marlo Scott of Green County; 10 grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 4 step-great-grandchildren; her step-mother, Pansy Bowles of Keswick; 7 brothers, James, Richard, Russell, Bernard, Howard and Clinton Booker, and Albert Bowles, Jr; 7 sisters, Alice Lee, Patricia Wallace, Mary Booker, Stacy Garrett, Teresa Satir, Kim Hale and Aundria Blair; and a host of extended family and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 AM on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Union Branch Baptist Church with the Reverend Maynard R. Jones officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
The viewing will be from 11 AM a" 5 PM on Friday, January 21, 2011 at Thacker Brothers Funeral Home in Scottsville and one hour prior to the service at the church.
