With deep regret, I read the obit of your wife in today's paper. This is an unusual and sad way to answer a question that has been on my mind about what ever happened to you after Olin Pasadena. I know we shared the outdoor scene more that anyone there. I'm glad that you had the obit put in the Houston paper since you all have so many friends here and her accomplishments needed to be acknowledged. The best to you and your family from a friend in Texas. Keep a tight line for us.

Dear Gerald and Family, We were so sorry to hear about Ida Lynn. We knew her as grade school kids and enjoyed many birthday parties and other gatherings with Ida Lynn. Also, our Dad, Ray Coen, was a military friend of her Dad. And Ida Lynn's mother was a room mother many times over with our Mom. Ida Lynn was always such a sweet and lovely girl. The last time we saw her was when she was about 18 or 19 years old and what a beauty she was. Our sincerest sympathy.

Dear Mr. Swiggett and Family,
I was very sad to hear the news of Ida's passing. Although Ida and I did not talk much, she was always very nice when we did. Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.
