Aunt Rite:

Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers.

The end of an era with so many memories: skipping rocks, throwing frisbee, ''''Caled'''' on the birthday cake, and the always memorable ''''Huh'''' - Uncle Sam was the only grandfather figure I ever had.

I am honored to have his name.

We would also like to honor his service over this Veteran''''s Day holiday.

Much love,

Caleb and Penny

Dear Aunt Rite,
We have wonderful memories and so do our girls of the two of you laughing and talking. Our girls love to remember playing croquet in your yard.
Uncle Sam will be greatly missed.
We love you.

Dear Marguerite,
My mother (your niece) shared the sad news of Sam's passing. I am sure you are deeply grieved by his loss - my mother shared with me the wonderful, unique and special bond that you and Sam forged over the many years of your marriage. I will continue to pray for you during this grieving process, while honoring and thanking God for Sam's life as a veteran, husband, uncle and friend.

I have never met you or Sam, but I am so happy that my mother has been connected to you both. You and Sam have been great friends to my mother and she deeply appreciates the connection she shares with you. God Bless you!

Uncle Sam will be greatly missed by Julie and I. I so looked forward to visiting the two of you and Uncle Sam always had a joke or something funny to say! It is hard to describe what an influence he was on my life as well as you. The two of you were like parents to Sherri, Steve and I. We are comforted that we will see him again in Heaven.
