Vera Margaret Strub

     Vera Margaret Strub, 95, of Lake Monticello, died on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at The Laurels of Charlottesville.

     She was born on April 17, 1917 in Lancaster County, PA, a daughter of the late Hiram M. and Edna (Brown) Rea.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Theodore Weinert Strub and her sister, Esther M. Rogers.

     Mrs. Strub was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She attended Bucknell University and earned a degree in mathematics, loved dogs, enjoyed reading and was an avid New York baseball and football fan.  She will be missed.

     Survivors include four children, Rea L. Mueller and her husband, James, of Palmyra, Dr. Paul T. Strub and his wife, Shirley, of Corvallis, OR, Peter M. Strub and his wife, Cindy, of Ocean, NJ, and Margaret N. Richter and her husband, Robert, of Neptune, NJ; five grandchildren, Joseph R. Mueller, Jeffrey W. Mueller, Dr. Graham M. Strub, Brett W. Johnson and Stefani A. Ulibarri; and eight great-grandchildren.

     A memorial service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Grace Episcopal Church in Cismont by the Rev. Randy Haycock. 

     The family will receive friends in the church parish hall following the service.

     In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Sea Bright Rising, a hurricane Sandy relief fund, at PO Box 6245, Fair Haven, NJ 07704; or to the Charlottesville Salvation Army, 207 Ridge St., Charlottesville, VA 22902.
