Margaret M. Christoffersen

     Margaret Mary Christoffersen, 84, of Lake Monticello, passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at her home.    

     She was born on May 16, 1934, a daughter of the late John Gotti and Louise (Folmer) Gotti. 

     Marge moved to Lake Monticello in 1998 from Hauppauge, New York.  She loved her family and always enjoyed them being around.  She was a member of the Hauppauge Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary; Virginia Master Gardeners; and the Lake Monticello Beautification Corps.  She was an avid quilter who enjoyed quilting weekly with friends. She thoroughly enjoyed tending her gardens and sharing plants and knowledge with friends.  She attended Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Palmyra.

     Survivors include her husband of 65 years: Peter Christian Christoffersen; five children: John Christoffersen (Vicki) of Newton, North Carolina, Peter Christoffersen of Palmyra, Fran Pitts (Richard) of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Lisa Miller (Robin) of Bay Shore, New York, and Andrew Christoffersen of Medford, New York; five grandchildren: Kimberly Christoffersen, Eric Pitts, James and Kate Miller, and Mia Weisbrod.

      Memorial contributions may be made to the Lake Monticello Fire and Rescue Inc., 10 Slice Road, Palmyra, VA 22963.

       In honoring her wishes, Marge will be cremated and all services will be private.

Marge will be missed. She made so many contributions to the Lake and Master Gardeners.
