Patrick William Tocci

Patrick William Tocci, 31, of Scottsville, passed away on Monday evening, April 29, 2019 in Charlottesville.

He was born on August 6, 1987, in Center Harbor, New Hampshire, a son of Michael Joseph and Barbara Ann (Sheff) Tocci.

Patrick was a founding partner of the family business: Tocci Mid-Atlantic.  He was a United States Marine Corps Veteran, honorably serving his Country in Iraq as a Combat Engineer.  He was a talented musician, who was well known throughout the Scottsville music scene.  He was a founding member and Quartermaster of Co. K, 44th Virginia Infantry Regiment (the "Fluvanna Guard"), an ancient and honorable unit of the Army of Northern Virginia.

Patrick was an experienced farrier and horseman, he enjoyed canoeing and fishing the Horseshoe Bend, hiking the Blue Ridge, and spending time with his family and friends.  He was a baptized man who honored God, and God honored him.

In addition to his parents, Michael and Barbara Tocci of Scottsville, survivors include his older brother, Michael Jedidiah and his wife, Danielle, and their two children, Gideon and Caitlin, of Manchester, New Hampshire; his older brother, James Joseph, with whom he shared birthdays, friends, a house, a successful business partnership, Parris Island and deployment to Iraq; his younger brother and business partner, Andrew Marc, and his wife Summer (and little baby due to be born any day now) of Scottsville; and younger brothers, Samuel Patrick Anthony and Myles Robert Lee, who are also housemates with Patrick and James (and employees of Tocci Mid-Atlantic).

He was preceded in death by his older sister, Caitlin Avrit.

Patrick was a cherished member of the Tocci Family at large, being a vast clan with its ancestral seat in Nonantum, Massachusetts.

A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 pm, Saturday, May 4, 2019 at the Scottsville United Methodist Church by Pastor Brian Lamb.  Interment will follow at the family homestead on Antioch Road, Scottsville.  A reception for family and friends will be held at 6639, Blenheim Road in Scottsville immediately following the committal service.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm, Friday evening, May 3, 2019 at Scottsville United Methodist Church.

Thacker Brothers Scottsville Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.  Family and friends may share memories and photos at www.thackerbrothers.com.

I never had the pleasure of meeting your loved one. Nor am I a friend of the family. I just want to offer my prayers to all of you. I lost a daughter several years ago and I realize what grief it brings.

May our Heavenly Father bless you with His peace, comfort and strength. He is forever faithful; His love unfailing. May He guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus and overshadow you with His peace and love.

My kids and their dad spent every weekend playing soccer with he and his brothers for at least a decade, and I will say that your entire family being there on the field helped make my kids' childhood! Whenever the Toccis arrived, it meant here would be enough people to play soccer! So, thank you, Patrick, and the rest of the family for showing up, week after week after week:)

I enjoyed the thoughtful conversations I had with Patrick at the pool hall, the brewery, the coffeehouse in Scottsville, and his musical encouragement (the one time I performed at an open mic, he was there to cheer me on).

He was always a genteman with a gentle smile, posessing many talents he shared selflessly,. He will be, and is, missed.

Rest in peace, Patrick. Love to you all, Barb, Michael, Jedidiah, Jim, Sam, Miles and Andrew.

Patrick was incredible. He was one of the first people we became friends with after moving to Scottsville and one that we had the honor of seeing multiple times per week. We knew him as one of the kindest souls. Patrick's love will live on. We are beyond sorry and send our condolences to the entire Tocci family that we love so dearly. We pray for you.

My family and I would like to send prayers to all the family members. I myself did not know Mr. Thacker. I was part of the CVMA 27-3 that came from the Richmond/Chester, Virginia area. Escorting Mr. Thacker and his family was HUGE honor for me. I will be sending prayer requests and have my family light candles for strength for family and friends. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
