Antoinette M. Wolowski

Antoinette “Anty” Marie Wolowski, 91, of Lake Monticello, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Easter Sunday, April 21, 2019 at the Hospice House in Charlottesville surrounded by love.
She was born on August 14, 1927 in Plains, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Benjamin Wolowski and Anna Grobinski.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters: Josephine Westawski, Stephanie Stuart, Elizabeth Kuzemka and Dolores Bennett; and her brothers: Walter and Stanley Wolowski.
She is survived by her nephew: James Radzville and his wife, Cheryle Radzville; great-niece: Lauren Watkins and her husband, Garrett Watkins and her pride and joy, great-grand-niece, Letty Watkins; a nephew: Michael Kuzemka and great-nieces: Ana and Brin Kuzemka; along with a large number of other nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
Anty had formerly worked at the Plains Blouse Factory in Plains, Pennsylvania. She was of Catholic faith, but had enjoyed attending Antioch Baptist Church with Lauren, Garrett and Letty the last few years. Anty was a word search master and loved to watch GSN. She enjoyed watching football, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers, UVA sports, and baseball. Anty would never turn down a plate of spaghetti and meatballs cooked by Garrett and she loved vanilla milkshakes. She spent her final year living with and being cared for by her “little angel” Lauren. She loved being surrounded by family and it allowed her to play with Letty whenever she desired (which was all the time).
A special thanks to her nurse, Janet Ruggerio, her nursing assistants, Lindsey Rogers and Sarah Thomas, and Chaplain Denise Vogt from Hospice of the Piedmont; all the nurses and nursing assistants at the Hospice House; and nurse, Liz Murray of Sentara Palmyra Medical Associates.
A memorial service will be conducted at 5:00 pm, Friday, May 17, 2019 at Antioch Baptist Church, 4422 Antioch Road Scottsville, Virginia by Pastor David Vogt.  All family and friends are welcome.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in Anty’s memory may be made to: Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway Suite 300 Charlottesville, Virginia 22911.

Jim, Cheryle, Lauren, Garrett, Letty and extended family:

"Anty" was a special lady! Whenever I talked with her, it was as if I had known her for a long time. She was such an inspiration to whomever she was around.

On more than one occasion, she would tell me what a great cook Garrett was and how much she loved his "spaghetti." (I loved it, too!)

Heaven has received a "Special Angel."
