Nancy J. Allen

     Mrs. Nancy Janie (Butler) Allen, age 83, of Scottsville passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at her residence. 

     She was born December 5, 1935, in Fluvanna County, the daughter of the late Ernest Franklin and Janie (Ripley) Butler.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years: Kyle E. Allen, Sr.; her infant son: Joseph; her siblings: Lawrence Butler, Leslie Butler, Waverly Butler, Willie Butler, and Virginia O’Brien; and her great-grandson: William Grosh. 

     Nancy was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and retired from Amvest after 25 years of service.

     Survivors include her two sons and daughters-in-law, Kyle Edward Allen Jr. (Darlene) and John Michael Allen (Cathy); seven grandchildren: Chris Allen (Jolie), Melanie Evans (Kevin), Chasity Grosh (Billy), Justin Allen (Shannon), Jessica Kirby (Jason),  Melissa Wagner, and Jeremy Allen (Ginger); 17 great- grandchildren: Travis Allen, Kiersten Sandridge (Austin), Breanna Evans, Taylor Grosh, CJ Allen, Caleb Koontz, Liyah Allen, Harley Kirby, Kate Grosh, Mason Kirby, Wesley Allen, Logan Koontz, Blake Evans, Bentley Allen, Jace Allen, Gunner Wagner, and Avery Wagner.  

     Special thanks to the wonderful staff at Hospice of the Piedmont and her two sons who provided invaluable care over the past few weeks.

     A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery, 4422 Antioch Road, Scottsville, with Pastor Steve Huffman officiating.

Prayers for the family. She will be missed by so many, but have peace in knowing she's singing with the angels....so many childhood memories of Ms. Nancy....I know sometimes we would drive her and Ms. Barbara crazy but they always loved.. I can see the smile on her face as Jesus took her by the hand! Love and Prayers.

So sorry to hear of Nancy passing away. Always loved her and had so much fun. Remember good times at the beach. Godspeed Nancy, will see you again one day. Prayers for all the family.
