Cullen Patterson, Jr.

     Cullen “Sammpie” Patterson, Jr., 49, of Howardsville, departed this earthly life on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville surrounded by his family.     

     He was born on February 13, 1970, in Charlottesville, a son of Cullen Patterson Sr. and Alma Daniels.     

     A long-time truck driver, Cullen was employed by S.L. Williamson in Charlottesville.  He accepted Jesus Christ and was baptized at an early age. He enjoyed dancing, fishing, hunting, all kinds of music, and most of all driving his dump trucks, tractor trailer and riding his motorcycle with his friends. He had a great love of spending time with his family.    

     In addition to his parents: Cullen Patterson, Sr. (Roberta) and Alma Daniels, survivors include a daughter: Shanise (Donald) Jones of Scottsville, a son: Lionel (Chanele) Thomas, one grandson: Mesiah “Yummy” Jones, his four sisters: Gwen Patterson, Lisa Patterson-Allen (Sylvester), Natasha Patterson Henson and Latoya Braxton. A special aunt: Edith (Timothy) Walker, a special friend: Cathy Jenkins, close friends: John, Charlie, Frezelle, Junius, Daniel, Sam and Jimmy. A host of Nieces, Nephews, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends.

     The family wishes to give a heartfelt thanks to his dedicated nurse Logan and the Neuro ICU Team at the University of Virginia Medical Center     

      A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 pm, Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at the Yancey School Community Center, 7625 Porters Road in Esmont by the Reverend Curtis Hedgeman. Repass following the services in Yancey School Community Center cafeteria.     

      The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm, on Tuesday evening, September 10, 2019 at Thacker Brothers Scottsville Funeral Home.

So sorry for your loss. Sam was a great guy. Always seem to be in a good mood. Going to be missed very much. I sure will miss hollering at my big brother on the CB. Rest in peace creeper
