Anna Florence Maupin, 87, of Alberene, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, January 14th, 2023. She was born on June 25th, 1935 to the late Charlie and Rosa Jones. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years Jack Maupin, special friend of 25 years Harold Hudson and her daughter Vicki Lloyd. As well as a host of brothers and sisters.
Anna is survived by her children Brenda Watkins (Orlando), Mary Pleasants (Wayne), Betty Campbell, and Danny Maupin (Lorrie). As well as 17 Grandchildren, and a host of Great Grandchildren and Great-Great Grandchildren, as well as, numerous nieces and nephews.
She loved shopping trips to town and adventures all around. She loved to go but she loved to come home, too. Mini vacations were her favorite, especially Colonial Beach.
Anna was always a homemaker and took pride in family coming in to visit. Her telephone was her primary source of news, weather and entertainment. She enjoyed it, as long as it didn’t interfere with “As the World Turns”.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thank you to Rosemary Faircloth, Carolyn Brown, Barrie Hughes, and E.D. Wood for all their many acts of kindness, help, and companionship over the past few years. Family will receive friends and extended family on Thursday, January 19th from 6-8 PM at Thacker Brothers Funeral Home in Scottsville. Her Celebration of Life will take place at Alberene Baptist Church on Friday, January 20th at 11 AM with interment at Alberene Cemetery with a reception following back at the church.
Family and friends are invited to share pictures and memories at thackerbrothers.com.
