April Yvonne Coles, born June 1, 1986, to Margie Catherine (Ayers) Coles the late James Willard Coles and was gifted her wings January 7, 2026 at UVA medical center.
There are no words that can be spoken or any stories that can be told to capture the stunning person behind such a beautiful smile. Her passion for the spoken word was always strong from her time on the Monticello High School Editing Team, to her last days lining bookshelves with literature. A passion that escaped from her own fingers leading her to write and publish four books of her own.
April's passion for cooking kept everyone full and growing, exploring many flavors in life stemming from her enjoyment of The Food Network. A wide love for media encouraged her collection of the Walking Dead series, The Simpsons, Greys Anatomy, many things horror and comedy. April had an aura that drew everyone in and made everyone welcome. It was impossible to pass her and not share a smile.
With her passing, in addition to her mother, she lives in love through two sisters, Catrina (Coles) Barbour and her husband, Matthew Barbour, and Jessica Coles; five nieces, which were her world - Sierra Barbour, T'keyah Barbour, Mariah Barbour, Anubia Eubanks, and Taraji Coles. Though having no children of her own, she also lives in love through her feline fur baby Ella.
April Coles was a fighter through it all and always stayed strong even through her struggles with cancer. God kept her and promised her to struggle no more.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Thacker Brother Scottsville Funeral Home.
