Arlene Oslin Obituary

Margaret Arlene (Toms) Oslin, 97, of Scottsville, died on Monday, January 26, 2026 in Charlottesville.

She was born on September 28, 1928 in Schuyler, a daughter of the late Lutie and Margaret Lee (Wade) Toms.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Keith “Jimmy” Oslin.

Mrs. Oslin worked as a Secretary at the Scottsville School for 32 years, then volunteered at Walton Middle School for 10 years.   She was an active member of Scottsville Presbyterian Church.

 Survivors include a daughter, Sharon J. Workman and her husband, Lloyd of Stanardsville; a special granddaughter, Joanna Frye and her husband, Chris of Stanardsville; grandsons, Keith Workman and his partner, Ashley Swingler of Earlysville and Corey Workman and his wife, Maddie of Stanardsville; great-grandsons, Dakota Rothgeb and his wife, Lauren, Robbie Proffitt and his wife, Brandi, Christopher Wise, Memphis Owens and his husband, Jaden, Bryce Farley, Corey Michael Workman, Gavin Workman, and Kason Workman; along with many great-great-grandchildren. 

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Thacker Brothers Scottsville Funeral home by the Revs. Richard Knox and Gordon Lindsey.  Burial will follow in Rock Spring United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
