Barbara Cash Marks

Barbara Cash Marks, 89, of Nelson County Passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, in Charlottesville, Virginia. 

She was born on June 27, 1932, at her home in Charlottesville, a daughter of the late Luther and Sally Cash. 

Mrs. Marks was married to her beloved husband, Thomas (Bill) Marks, of 52 years until his death in 2006. 

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Minnie Draper; three brothers, Douglas, Grover and Edward Cash; and two siblings who passed shortly after birth, Hortense and Dan. 

She retired from the University of Virginia and was a faithful member of Schuyler Baptist Church for many, many years. Barbara was a woman who loved her family with all of her heart and her greatest title was "Grandma". 

Survivors include her daughter, Debra Reed (Thurman) of Scottsville; her son, Thomas Marks, Jr. (Angela) of Navare, FL; 5 grandchildren, Jessica Bradley (Mark) of Burke, VA, Dawn Newell (Ryan) of Midlothian, TX, Rebeca Shephard (Brent) of Dahlonega, GA, Kathy Marks of Jacksonville, FL, and Thomas Marks (Serena) of Fremont, CA; 6 great-grandchildren, Reagan, Mason, Hunter, Adelaide, Fletcher, and Charlotte; and a host of extended family members and friends.

A graveside service will be officiated by Pastor Jon McCranie on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Monticello Memory Gardens in Charlottesville.
