Barbara Lee Pate (Graham), 71, of Scottsville passed away Thursday, August 17, 2023 at her home.
She was born on Monday, April 7, 1952 in Connecticut, a daughter of the late Robert and Dorothy Graham.
Barb graduated from Wayne Valley High School in New Jersey and went on to get her higher education at Tombrock Junior College. The fruits of her academic labors allowed her to land a rewarding job as a legal secretary for Bruce Mills, Esquire.
Barb was a woman of many interests and sought to live life to the fullest. Her hobbies included decorating, growing beautiful flowers, and entertaining loved ones. Spending time with family and friends was precious to Barb, making many happy and lasting memories with those closest to her. She treasured having a “girls night out” whenever she and her fellow Scottette Dancers could get together for some fun on the dance floor. Barb also loved spending time on the water and fishing. Her kind and giving nature was apparent in the attentive way she cared for her furry friends.
Barb is survived by her husband, Terry Pate; her sister, Linda Bradley (Tom); her nephew, Kenneth Bradley (Michelle); a great-niece, Taylor Bradley; and a host of family and friends that will miss her dearly.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at Thacker Brothers Scottsville Funeral Home.
Those who desire to do so may donate in Barbara's name to Basset Rescue of Old Dominion, 3445 Seminole Trail, Box 248; Charlottesville, VA 22911. Flower arrangements may be sent to the funeral home.
