Betty Drake Thurston

Betty Drake Thurston, 74, of Earlysville passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2025.

She was the daughter of the late George and Carrie Drake. Born on August 17, 1950, in Charlottesville, Virginia.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Michael S. Thurston.

Survivors include her sons, Glenn “GW” Wyman Sites, Jr. and his wife, Lindsey of Charlottesville and Dewey Sites and his wife, Brandi of Scottsville; her daughter, Deborah Dorrier and her husband, Raymond of Scottsville; her loving fiancé, Irving Micklem; 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 11:00am – 1:00pm on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at Thacker Brothers Scottsville, 650 Valley St. Scottsville, VA 24590. A funeral service will begin at 1:00pm with Pastor Bill Templeton presiding. A graveside will immediately follow at Scottsville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Betty’s honor to Albemarle County Fire and Rescue.
