Brenda Lee Gillespie, 73, of Charlottesville passed away on Friday, May 31, 2024.
She was born March 1, 1951, in Baltimore, Maryland, the daughter of the late Wesley Hudson and Cecil Thomas Hudson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a nephew, Scott Kemp.
Brenda is survived by her daughter, Kelly Tyree (Wayne); sister, Betty Jean Swamley (Wayne); four grandchildren, Courtney Hansen (Dustin), Joshua Tyree, Matthew Tyree, and Lydia Tyree; one nephew, Stephen, and two nieces, Dana and Shannon.
Brenda was a praying woman who loved the Lord and could not wait to meet Him. She loved music, especially hymns and hot tea. Psalms 91 was her favorite scripture.
She had a smile that lit up any room where she was present. It didn’t take much to make her happy, any simple gesture would do. Brenda was a genuine person.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Alberene Cemetery with Pastor Wayne Tyree officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Grace Baptist Church, 3764 Pritchett Lane, Charlottesville, VA 22911.
