Bucky Lee Crickenberger, 59, of Esmont, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, in Charlottesville, Virginia.
He was born on July 18, 1962, a son of the late Francis and Lillian Alma (Herndon) Crickenberger.
In addition to his parents, Bucky is preceded in death by his niece, Kelly Morgan Garrett.
Bucky, better known as “Whistle Pete”, was a dedicated, loving, hardworking man who would do just about anything for anybody! He worked at the University of Virginia Academic Center as a High Voltage Electrician Lead for 30+ years. He loved the outdoors and had a passion for fishing, hunting and camping. Bucky enjoyed spending time with his family and friends when he was able and always had a smile on his face. He was just a fun character! He will truly be missed by all that knew him.
Survivors include his loving sidekick, who was always there for him in his final year, Denise; his two children, Carly Marie Crickenberger and Buck Cody Crickenberger; his brother, Cricket Crickenberger and wife, Nancy, of Louisa, and their children, Christopher, Hope and Stephanie; his brother, Wayne Crickenberger and wife, Debbie, of Keswick, and their children, Sarah and Hunter;, his sister, Gloria Burns and husband, John, of Charlottesville and their son, John Burns, Jr. and his wife Lauren, a brother Battle Crickenberger of Scottsville; his sister, Daisy Crute of Palmyra and children, Logan, Taylor, Adam and Benjamin; his sweet fur baby, Duck; along with a host of extended family members and friends who loved him dearly.
A memorial service will be conducted at 12:00 PM on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Thacker Brothers Scottsville Funeral Home, with Pastor Dakota Stewart officiating.
