Carol Marie (Harrison) Taylor, 80, of Scottsville, died on Friday, March 27, 2026, at her home with her family by her side.
She was born July 1, 1945, in Charlottesville, a daughter of the late William Leslie and Rosemary (Tapscott) Harrison.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Everett Lee Taylor.
Carol was a member of Antioch Baptist Church where she served faithfully on many committees. She was a homemaker and worked at Lumpkins Restaurant for many years. Carol was an active member of the ladies auxiliary of the VFW and served as Chaplin for many years. She was active with the Scottsville Senior Center and enjoyed the trips they would take. She loved being on the go with family and friends and being with her children and grandchildren. She never missed a grandchild's sporting event and always cheered them on.
Survivors include three daughters, Amanda Taylor Morris of Scottsville, Sarah Pardue Tate (Robert) of Scottsville, Karen Leigh O’Brien of Scottsville; six grandchildren, Ryan Morris and his girlfriend Chloe Morris, Gracie Pardue, Dylan Pardue, Tyler O’Brien, Emma O’Brien, and Taylor O’Brien; one brother, Wilson Harrison of Birmingham, AL, sister-in-laws Brenda Huggins and Patty Gilbert of Montross, VA; special friends, Judy Miller, Irene Ballowe, Lula Johnson, Wanda Pierce, Patsy Walls, Alberta Higdon and members of the Friday Breakfast Club Ladies.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Thacker Brothers Scottsville Funeral Home by Pastor Dave Vogt. Burial will follow at Scottsville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
