Cecil T. Henderson, Sr.

Cecil T. Henderson, Sr., 82, formerly of rural Scottsville, VA, passed away Wednesday, June 9, 2021. Cecil was a 1956 graduate of Jenkins High School in Jenkins, Kentucky.  He served in the United States Air Force from 1957-1960. He was also very proud to serve as a Deacon at the Goshen Baptist Church. Cecil loved gardening, golf, gadgets of any sort, wood working, and was an avid coin collector. He enjoyed American History, especially the Civil War era.  An avid Kentucky Wildcat fan, if there wasn’t a game on, you would most likely find Cecil watching one of his many favorite old westerns.

Cecil was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Bessie Henderson and his beloved wife, Kathryn. He is survived by his children: Lisa (Jerry) Aldrich, Mary (Todd) Thompson, Lynne (Kenny) Davis, and Cecil (April) Henderson, Jr. and Cheryl (Ali) Ardjomand; and his grandchildren: Samantha Aldrich, Katie Aldrich, Matthew Aldrich, Meagan (Dustin) Danner, Michael (Shana) Thompson, David Thompson, Michael Brookfield, McKenzie (Mike) Cable, Laura Ann (Will) Allen, and Landon Henderson; and his great- grandchildren: Corbin Slater, Elijah Danner, Preston Danner, and Harper Cable. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and friends.

A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 14, 2021 at Goshen Baptist Church, 2381 Axtell Rd., Howardsville, VA 24562. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. and burial at Goshen Baptist Cemetery, immediately following the service.
