Charles (Charlie) Armitage, Sr., 77 of Troy, VA passed away peacefully on May 6, 2024,
surrounded by his family and friends.
He was born February 27, 1947, in Louisa County, VA, the son of the late Joseph
Armitage and Ottie Smith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother David Armitage.
Charlie is survived by his two sons, Charles (Charlie) Armitage, Jr., of Palmyra, VA, and

He retired from Kroger after 44 years of service. He enjoyed spending time with his
family and friends, antiquing, working in his yard, cookouts, wineries, and watching
classic movies. He also had a passion for animals and talking with people. These were
just a few things our precious father and grandfather enjoyed during his life.
Charlie was a very supportive father and grandfather, continuously embracing his family
and he was very proud of them.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, May 10, 2024, at
