He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dawn Louise Maguire (née Breu), his parents, and his sisters Jeanne Ramirez and Lillian Huerta.
Mac was born on May 23, 1935, in West Warwick, RI to Mederic Charles and Genevieve Brouillard Maguire. He graduated from high school in West Warwick in 1953. Following graduation, Mac enlisted in the United States Navy and worked as a Naval Communications Technician. He married Dawn Breu in 1964. After 24 years of service, Mac retired in 1979 with the rank of Interior Communications Electrician Chief Petty Officer (ICC).
Mac loved his family, his dog, camping, woodworking, turning pens and other useful things on the lathe, and most of all – Mac loved to cook delicious things. He was always fascinated with new recipes and shared his love of preparing good food with his children. To those who knew and loved him, Mac was larger than life. One element of that big personality was his laugh. To paraphrase his grandson John, Mac had an infectious laugh that could fill a room and draw others into the fun he was having.
A funeral mass will be held at 3 pm on Saturday, September 6th, 2025, at St. George Catholic Church (Scottsville), 7240 Scottsville Rd, Scottsville, VA 24590. A light reception will follow at the church.
