Cheryl Barresi Obituary

Cheryl A. Barresi

Cheryl Ann Barresi of Palmyra, Virginia lost her hard-fought battle with ovarian cancer on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at her home.

She was born on October 15, 1950 in Pittsfield, Massachusetts to the late John and Frances Manship.

In addition to her parents, Cheryl was preceded in death by her late husband: Anthony Barresi in 2000; and her brother: John in 2007.

After graduation from Pittsfield High School in 1968, she worked as an Administrative Assistant for 40 years, ending her career at Lockheed Martin Corporation in Syracuse, New York.

Upon moving to the community of Lake Monticello in 2007, she was highly active at the golf course, loved swimming in the lake, and easily made many new friends.  Camping was also a favorite activity for her as she traveled with her family to many new campgrounds.

Survivors include her husband: Stacey Barnard; two sisters: Pat Clark (Joe) and Paula Vajda (Bruce); her stepchildren: Erik and Katie Barnard and Serena McIntyre.

In honoring her wishes, there will be no services.  Her ashes will be scattered at sea, as she wanted to come back as a mermaid.
