CURTIS (RED) ROGER HEDGEMAN, JR.

Curtis R. Hedgeman, Jr. transitioned to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 24, 2021 in Chesterfield, VA. He was born on February 23, 1957 in Charlottesville, VA.  Curtis joined the Union Baptist Church at an early age and was a diligent worker in the church.  He graduated from St. Paul College.  He was a great football player.

Curtis went into the Army after graduation as a 2nd Lieutenant.  He spent many years in the service and worked various assignments. 

He leaves to cherish his memories his father, Rev. Curtis Hedgeman and his mother, Ruby Hedgeman; two sisters, Pamela Robinson and Lolita Owens (Proctor); two sons, Calen Cooper and Christopher Hedgeman; special friends, Michele Cook and Shelva Braxton; his best friend, Robert Dixon; and a host of relatives and friends.

 Curtis lived a full life and he never met a stranger.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Thacker Brothers Scottsville Funeral Home.  Interment will immediatey follow in the Hedgeman Family Cemetery in Buckingham.  All attendees to services will be required to wear masks and maintain social distancing.  

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be no formal visitation or family night but friends and family are welcome to pay their respects on Friday, January 29, 2021 from 12:00 pm-4:00 pm at Thacker Brothers Scottsville Funeral Home.
