Daniel Leeroy Shifflett

Daniel Leeroy Shifflett, 78, of Free Union, died on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at his home.

He was born on May 29, 1944 in Boonesville, a son of the late John Thomas and Lucy Millie (Wood) Shifflett.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann (Garrison) Shifflett; and a brother James “Big Boy” Shifflett.

Mr. Shifflett worked as a builder in the Charlottesville area for many years. He loved horses, riding his Harley, listening to Elvis, and watching Westerns on TV.

Survivors include two sisters, Patsy Kelley (Barry) of Grottoes, and Genevieve White (James) of Boonesville; many nieces, nephews, extended family, and special neighbors, Forrest and Joy Walton.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at Prize Hill Cemetery.  There will be no viewing or visitation.
