Danny Lynn Hoover, 58, of Scottsville VA passed away on March 25, 2021 at his home in Scottsville after a battle with Stage Four Cancer. He was born in Charlottesville, VA at UVA Hospital on January 25, 1963.
Danny is survived by his parents, Herman William “Bill” Hoover, Jr. of Billings, MT and June (Bryant) Hoover of Scottsville, VA. He is also survived by his wife, Christina Hoover; his sons, Jeffrey and Trent Hoover all of Scottsville; two stepsons, Patrick and Robert Leake of Billings ; two daughters, Bonnie and Dawn both of Missouri; brother, Herman William “Billy” Hoover, III; his nephew, Austin, whom he loved and adored, of Woodridge; his sister, Robin Hudgins and her husband, Mike; sister, Teresa (Hoover) Guiff; uncles, Earl and Chan Bryant, Alan and Peggy Bryant; aunts, Becky Stinson and Martin Schmidt, Betty and Gene Bryant all of Scottsville; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and grandchildren.
Danny was a self-employed floor installer for 40 years, who subcontracted through Ceiling and Floor Shop. He took a lot of pride in his work. He loved hunting, fishing, watching NASCAR and took pride working on his home and yard. He was a devoted father and husband. His sons were his everything and is what kept him going.
He was preceded by his maternal grandparents, Francis Harris and Helen (Parker) Bryant; his brother, Jeffrey Francis Hoover; his cousin, Albert Bryant; his uncle, Donnie Bryant; his brother-in-law, Mike Guiff and his nephew, Billy Russell Hoover.
A graveside service will be help at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday March 31, 2021 at Scottsville Cemetery, 400 Hardware Street, with Pastor Randy Golladay officiating.Due to Covid-19 regulation, those attending the service are asked to please wear a facial mask and practice social distancing. The service will also be aired live on Facebook for those who cannot attend, please visit Thacker Brothers Facebook Page. Family and friends are welcome, and a gathering will be held at the Hoover home at 781 Poplar Spring Road immediately after the service.
There will be no public viewing or visitation at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations. They can be made on Facebook under Christina’s or Jeffrey’s Facebook page. Jeff has set up a Go Fund Me Contribution or you may deliver to the house. Flowers are still welcome if you choose.
The family would like to thank the Hospice of the Piedmont Staff for all their help with Danny’s life as well as being there for his family. They were amazing. A special thanks to Devin Morris for helping the family and thank you to Christina’s brother and his wife, Robert and Paula Ramirez of Billings for always helping out when needed. God Bless you all.
