Darryl Lee Turner, 61, of Charlottesville, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at his home. He was surrounded by his beloved girlfriend, Serena, his children and other family members and friends.
He was born on August 31, 1960, to the late Lewis Chambers and Viola Turner.
Darryl was educated in the Albemarle County Public School system. He worked for many years with S.L. Williamson and Virginia Asphalt doing construction work. Darryl enjoyed spending time with his children and girlfriend, when he wasn’t working. He enjoyed spending time with his nephew, Marcel Turner and his cousins, Anthony Reid and Tim Kenney. Darryl worked hard for many years and loved his children more than anything. We will carry the precious memories of him in our hearts forever.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Irene and James Turner; a sister, Cheryl Turner; a brother, Mark Turner; three aunts, Lillie Cottrell, Gloria Brown and Phillis Randolph; and three uncles, James, Donald and John Turner.
Darryl leaves to mourn his loving memory, his dedicated and devoted girlfriend, Serena Faulkner of Charlottesville; his committed sons, Darrence and Darryl Scott; three daughters, Sha Campbell, Malaysia Campbell and Daaiya Turner; three sisters, Linda Brooks (Lacey), Peggy Scott (William) and Sandra Holden; a brother, James Turner; a number of beautiful grandchildren; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, and other extended family members and friends who loved him dearly.
A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at Thacker Brothers Scottsville Funeral Home at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow immediately after at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Buckingham.
