David Joseph Weirich, Jr.

David Joseph Weirich, Jr., 82, of Scottsville, passed away on Monday, April 19, 2021 at Monroe Nursing and Rehab in Charlottesville. He was born in New Jersey on September 23, 1938, a son of the late David Joseph, Sr. and Mary (Warford) Weirich.

David worked for many years as a florist in New Jersey. In the 1970s, he was a finalist in the Pillsbury Bake Off Competition. He was a devoted Catholic, and a very thoughtful and caring person. He greatly loved animals.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Weirich.

Survivors include his partner, Harry Keller; sister, Mary Weirich; nephews, Joe Weirich and wife, Nora, Mark Weirich and wife, Stephanie, and Brian Weirich; great nephews, Rylee and Jace Weirich; as well as extended family and friends.

A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 26, 2021 at St. George Catholic Church with Father Rev. David Mott, O.P. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

There will be no formal viewing or visitation at the funeral home.
