Diana Michele (Puglisi) George

Diana Puglisi George, 64, of Palmyra, died on Friday, June 16, 2023, at Martha Jefferson Hospital.

She was born on July 21, 1958, in Mineola, NY, a daughter of the late Vincent A. and Marcia Z. (Lifland) Puglisi. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Dr. Austin Puglisi of CA. 

Diana was a parishioner at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church.  She was a greeter, lecturer, and a member of the choir.  A gifted cat lover and avid reader, she also enjoyed photography, sketching, painting, arts and crafts, and gardening.

Diana attended Brown University and earned her BA in English Literature and graduated Magna cum laude.  She was employed as a publications editor at the Virginia Law Foundation, Lexis Nexis, and Saint Martins Press.

Survivors include her husband Daniel W. George;  sisters-in-law, Anne Westenhaver and Mary Anne Perez; and a niece and nephew, Anna-Maria Perez and Paul D. Perez.  Diana had many close friends, maintained her long-term friendships and was considered “Aunt” to their children.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church by Father Joseph Mary Lukyamuzi, where the family will greet friends beginning at 10:00 AM.

The family will also receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at Thacker Brothers Lake Monticello Funeral Home.
