Douglas “Ray” Johnson, of Buckingham, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, July 29th, 2022.
He was born on March 2nd, 1959, a son of the late James and Betty Johnson.
Ray was a truck driver “CDL”. He was a big jokester and had a good sense of humor, no matter the situation. His favorite thing to say when things got tough was “Walk slow, and drink cold water”.
He is survived by his wife, Anita Johnson; two daughters and their husbands, Cassidy Thomas (Brian) of Gordonsville and Bridget Johnson (Adam) of Buckingham; five grandchildren, Tyler, Nathaniel “Stick”, Jacob, Kylie and Justin; two brothers, Roy Powers, Jr. (Joyce) and James Johnson Jr. (Dale), five sisters, Teresa Powers (Rusty), Judy Pittenger (Mark), Barbara Canter, Janice Gibson (Jason), and Joanne Branch (Kevin); and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 PM on August 6th, 2022 at his home, 2231 Jerusalem Church Rd. Buckingham, VA 23921.
Friends and family are welcome.
