Earl Wayne Wray      

 

 Earl Wayne Wray, 69, of Schuyler, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at the Heritage Inn of Charlottesville.    

 He was born on January 5, 1950, a son of the late LaGouri Garthwright Wray and Edna Mae (Jones) Wray.     

 In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David Wray.  

 Wayne retired from UPS after over 25 years of service.  He was a Vietnam War Veteran, having served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Scottsville and the Rockfish River Hunt Club.  He enjoyed hunting and NASCAR racing.     

 Survivors include his wife of 41 years: Clara Shores Wray of Schuyler; two daughters: Heather D'Ambrosio and husband, James of Jacksonville, Florida and Sherry Herring and husband, Todd of White Hall; a step-daughter: Tonya Landford and husband, Mike of Gordonsville; a brother: Francis "Buddy" Wray and wife, Patricia of Schuyler; two sisters: Judy W. Johnson and husband, Johnny of Scottsville and Gloria Jean Nash of Schuyler; a sister-in-law: Sharon Wray of Schuyler; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild;  special family friends: Claudia Evans and Rob Hamlet; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends.

 The family would like to give a special thanks to Wayne's caregivers: Lisa Miller and Sheena Anderson; the staff of the Heritage Inn of Charlottesville, especially Kelly Louk; and Medi Home Hospice for their devoted and loving care.  

 A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am, Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at Calvary Baptist Church in Scottsville by Pastor David Morris.  Following a meal, the interment will be held at the Wray Family Cemetery in Schuyler at 2:00 pm.      

 The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm, Monday evening, March 11, 2019 at Calvary Baptist Church.
