Edna Virginia (Moss) Davis, 84, of Scottsville, passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Martha Jefferson Hospital. She was born on February 22, 1937 in Dillwyn, a daughter of the late George Roosevelt and Emma (Murphy) Moss. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Duty and Marjorie Sloan; a brother, Franklin Moss; and two sons-in-law, Gene Ward and Michael Pace.
On August 24, 1956, she married Harry Richardson Davis, who survives, and soon after started their family. She worked at Uniroyal in Scottsville for a number of years, enjoyed bingo, babysitting, and loved the mountains.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Diane Pace (Richard), Dale Davis (Edna), and Kathy Pace, all of Scottsville; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Frances Spain or Rockville, VA, Ann McKay (Bernard) of Richmond; a sister-in-law, Judy Moss of Dillwyn; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to say a special “thanks” to her caregivers, Faye and Velma.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 23, 2021 at Scottsville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 22, 2021 at Thacker Brothers Scottsville Funeral Home.
