Edna Jane (Bryant) O'Brien

Edna Jane Bryant O'Brien, age 79, of Scottsville, passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2021.  Born on  June 2, 1941, she was the daughter of the late William A. Bryant and Mary Jane Young Bryant of Buckingham County, Virginia.  Edna was the wife of the late John O'Brien, Jr.  

In addition to her parents and husband, Edna was preceded in death by a son, Henry Lee O'Brien; 5 brothers; and 3 sisters.

Survivors include her son, John Edward O'Brien; daughter, Brenda Sue Palmer and her boyfriend, Ricky Turner; grandsons, Daniel Palmer and Tanner O'Brien; granddaughters, Courtney Walker and Robin Palmer; 2 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Norma Sue Perry and Ida Ruth Drumheller and her husband, Grayson; 2 sisters-in-law, Virginia Hunt and Muriel O'Brien; 5 brothers-in-law, Edward O'Brien, James Davis, David Davis, Mike Hunt, Reid Taylor and his wife, Norma; and many nieces and nephews.

Edna worked for many years at Comdial in Charlottesville.  

A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Fox Memorial Baptist Church.  Pastor Randy Golladay will be officiating.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be no formal visitation but friends and family may pay their respects at Thacker Brothers Scottsville Funeral Home.  Calling hours will be on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 from 11:00 am - 4:00 pm.  

Facial masks and social distancing will be required at all services.
