Edward Wayne “Punkin” Hunt, 66 of Covesville, lost his life on Saturday, June 8. 2024, in a sudden tragedy.
He was born October 2, 1957, in Charlottesville, VA, a son of the late Raymond Junior and Pearl Elizabeth Hunt.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, James “Boo Boo” Hunt and Ronnie L. Hunt and his two sisters, Joyce A. Shoopman and Connie E. Hensley.
Edward is survived by a daughter, that he raised as his very own with love, adoration, and respect, Angela Napier and her husband, Tony of Buckingham, his big brother Michael R. Hunt and his wife Virginia of Scottsville, his two sisters, Jane H. Morris of West Virginia and Nicole Lynn Gibson and her husband Robert of Howardsville; seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He had a special closeness with two of his nephews, Timmy and Daniel Hensley and his special niece Leigh Ann Beach and her husband Tim and their family, and had a close friendship with his uncle, Robert “Buck” Hunt of Covesville.
If you were to ask those who knew him, you would be told things such as, “he had a heart of gold” and “he would help anybody he could.” Edward was indeed a very kind and loving man. He was wonderful with children, and he enjoyed teaching them new things and making them laugh. He had many friends. He was truly one of a kind and he will be missed by many.
A memorial service and celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Fox Memorial Baptist Church Social Hall with Pastor Randy Golliday speaking.
