Edward Louis Kirby, 80 of Scottsville, VA passed away peacefully at his home on January 1, 2022. He was born
on January 9, 1941 in Frederick, Maryland and lived most of his life in Scottsville. He was proud to have
served and was honorably discharged from the United States Army. He was owner and operator of Kirbyco
Trucking Company. He worked for Tapscott Brothers Logging for many years and looked forward to his daily
trips to Spring Grove, PA. He enjoyed playing board games with his grandchildren, Harley and Mason. And
attending their sporting events. He loved his horses and adopted stray cats. He was an avid fan of the New
England Patriots, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and NASCAR. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester Eugene
Kirby and Ann Marsh Kirby Ray and his daughter, Terri Kirby Putman.
Survivors include his wife Ann Dooley Kirby of Scottsville, his children, Jason Kirby and wife, Jessica and their
children: Harley and Mason; daughter, Toni Allen and her husband, Brad and their children: Channing, Shaina &
Brianna; son, Eddie Kirby and fiancé’, Joni and children: Tripp, Kristian and Jackie; daughter, Wendy Lucas and her
husband, Larry and their children: Corbin and Aislinn; son-in law, Mickey Putman and children: Josh, Amber and Krystal;
4 great grandchildren: Kamiah, Justus, Jackson and Hayes; his twin brother, Everett (Joyce); brother, Mickey;
sister, Janice and a number of other extended family members and friends.
Due to inclement weather conditions the Graveside service for Saturday January 29th , 2022 at 2 pm at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery will be postponed until a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Scottsville Volunteer Fire Department or Antioch Baptist Church Building Fund.
