Eula Dowell Woody, 95, of Scottsville, passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at her home.
She was born on March 5, 1927, in Albemarle County, a daughter of the late Claude and Willie V. Dowell.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 70 years, Hunter Calvin Woody.
Mrs. Woody was a faithful member of Scottsville Baptist Church for 50 years, where she served as a Sunday school teacher, a deacon and sang on the church choir. She worked for a short time at the U.S. Rubber in Scottsville, then 15 years at The Young Men’s Shop in Charlottesville and 15 years as a Nurse’s Aide at the Fluvanna County Health Department.
Survivors include one daughter, Jennifer Hoskins (Oliver) of Fredericksburg; two grandsons, Jason Hunter Hoskins and Nathaniel Alexander Hoskins both of Fredericksburg; and two great-granddaughters, Emily Grace Hoskins and Lauren Faith Hoskins.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at Thacker Brothers Scottsville Funeral Home with Pastor Dakota Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in Scottsville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
