Obituary
Evelyn Maxine (Craft) Johnson, 75, of Clarksville, VA, died on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at her home.
She was born on September 29, 1947 in Richmond, a daughter of the late Henry Clyde and Catherine Louise (Call) Craft.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Arnold Craft and Henry Craft, Jr; and two nephews, Quinton and Jeffrey Craft, Sr.
Evelyn worked as a hairdresser, enjoyed being a homemaker and loved watching TV, especially crime shows. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Survivors include her husband of 31 years, John Wayne Johnson; two daughters, Stephanie R. Purcell (Brian) of New Kent, and Rachel L. Gaddis of Waynesboro; three stepchildren, Steven Johnson, Angela Gurley, and Susan Galda; twenty-one grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Monday, February 20, 2023 at Thacker Brothers Scottsville Funeral Home by Pastor Brian Purcell.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
