Evelyn M. Ward
Evelyn Maude Ward, 79, of Esmont, departed this life on Thursday, November 27, 2014 at her residence.
She was born on March 9, 1935 in Providence, Rhode Island, a daughter of the late Herbert and Evelyn (Lawson) Johnson.
Evelyn was a retired cook and was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Keene.
Survivors include five children, Patricia Ragland of Esmont, Robert Ward of Georgia, Raymond Ward of North Carolina, Rebecca Evans of Charlottesville, and Rhonda Bowles of North Garden; a brother, Richard Lawson of Rhode Island; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.
A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Thursday, December 4, 2014 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Keene by the Reverend Gene Woodson. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.
