Frances Anne (Herring) Moore

Frances Anne Moore, 86, of Scottsville went to be with her Lord on Monday, July 10, 2023.

Anne was born May 17, 1937 in Charlottesville, Virginia, a daughter of the late Sylvester and Frances Herring (Tyler).

In addition to her parents, Anne was preceded in death by her husband of 19 years, Ray A. Moore, Sr.; two brothers, Dickie Herring and Pete Herring; two sisters, Peggy Moore and Shirley Thacker; a daughter, Doris Anne; and a grandson, Brian Spradlin.

Anne worked at Uniroyal in Scottsville for many years until retiring to spend time at home with her family. Anne was a sharp card player, and she played to win. She also enjoyed Bingo and loved vacationing at the Outer Banks.

Anne leaves to cherish her memory four daughters, Linda Taaffe (Bill), Sharon Moore, Barbara Moore, and Denise Spradlin (Earl); two sons, Ray Allen, Jr. (Vickie) and Gary Moore (Brenda); four siblings, Deborah Mills, Linda Wood, Sylvester Herring, Jr., Warren Herring; six grandchildren, Chris, DJ, Travis, Kevin, Kristin (Jimmy), and Shawn Ray; great-grandchildren, Leigha, Kaelie, Britni, CJ, Brian, Cory, Madison, Ciara, Danny, Kinsley, Khloe, Delaney, and Wyatt; four great-great-grandchildren, Bentley, Greyson, Alethea, and Presley; and a host of family and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff from the Hospice of the Piedmont for their kindness and compassion as they cared for Anne. Because of their dedication, the family was able to focus on spending precious time with their mom in her final days.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 16, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Thacker Brothers Funeral Home located at 650 Valley Street in Scottsville, VA.

Family will receive friends to pay their respects one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

The committal will take place at Scottsville Cemetery after the service.
