Francis J. McCarthy, Jr.

Frank “Butch” McCarthy, Jr.,  76, of Scottsville, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, April 7, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis J. McCarthy, Sr. and Carolyn (Finnegan) McCarthy.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Christina “Tina” (Winslow) McCarthy; his children, Stacy McCarthy of Richmond, and F. Joseph “Joe” McCarthy III and his wife, Crystal of Luray; sister, Diane Dowell of Scottsville; grandchildren: Lauren Lewis of Suffolk, Triston McCarthy of Waynesboro, Leah Lewis of Hampton, and Madison May of Richmond.

Frank’s greatest joy was his family, his constant remodeling of his home, and tinkering with various cars, yard equipment, and tractors.

A memorial mass will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 12, 2021, at St. George Catholic Church, 7240 Scottsville Rd., Scottsville, VA, 24590.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. prior to services at the church.

Those wishing to attend the services will be required to wear a facial mask and practice social distancing.
