Fred Eubanks, 76, of Esmont, passed away on May 19, 2026, at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.
Born on July 17, 1949, in Nelson County, he was a son of the late Justen “Jack” Eubanks and Mary Susan Dyer Eubanks. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Connie Julesean (Coltrane) Eubanks, and two brothers, Nathaniel “Jimbo” Eubanks and James “Dinky” Eubanks.
Fred proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He later worked as a Maintenance Engineer at the Holiday Inn in Charlottesville, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dedication.
He is survived by his children: daughter Sherice Paige; son Devin Eubanks and his wife, Kimberly; and daughter Lauren Eddy; nine cherished grandchildren: Taylor Paige, Brooklyn Eubanks, Sydney Eubanks, Kyla Eddy, Mason Eubanks, Madisyn Eubanks, Trevor Eddy, Tyler Eddy, and Kacey High; his siblings: Edith Allen; Jack “Frost” Eubanks and his wife, Waltine; Mary Moore and her husband, Chris; Angeline Jackson; Barbara Allen; Debra Eubanks and her husband, Earl; Heidi Eubanks; and Evelyn Carey and her husband, Orlando; along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at New Green Mountain Baptist Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at Thacker Brothers Scottsville Funeral Home.
