Frederick Thomas Moulton Jr.

Frederick Thomas Moulton Jr, age 72, passed away the morning of October 30th, 2023.

Born December 25, 1950, a son of the late Delores and Frederick Thomas Moulton, Sr.

 He is survived by his son, Tom Moulton and daughter-in-law, Cassidy Moulton.

Fred Jr, or Phred, was an incredibly empathic and loyal man. Phred served in the U.S. Army during the waning years of the Vietnam War as a drill sergeant. By the mid-1970's, Phred retired from the Army and enjoyed two of his greatest passions: photography and traveling. It was during this time that, through his employment in Ozark Airlines, he was able to fly to far-off destinations and perfect his photography craft among the wonders of the world. He settled down with his wife, Christine, by the early 1990's and took it upon himself to be a stay-at-home dad while Christine worked in the private sector.

After Christine's passing in 2014, Phred found a new calling through Norm's Executive Transportation as a chauffeur driver. Phred would make countless friends through this final career and often was requested by name from repeat customers due to his memorization of every winery in Charlottesville combined with an unstoppable sense of humor. These final years were some of his best, lending a loving heart to his driving assignments. These often involved newly engaged couples at wineries or exhausted international travelers from Dulles Airport who were relieved to find a driver with a compassionate, listening ear and ability to safely get them home.

A Catholic Funeral Mass will be conducted at 11AM on Friday, November 10, 2023, St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. George’s Catholic Church Cemetery.
