George Filbert Roach

George Filbert Roach, 85, passed away on the evening of Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville.

George was born Monday, March 8, 1937, a son of the late Benny and Mary E. (Morris) Roach.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his brothers, James L. Roach, William “Buddy” Roach; his sisters Alice M. Morris, Nona Morris, Therley M. Moore.

George was a groundskeeper at Monticello for Thomas Jefferson Memorial Foundation. He loved playing cards and dominoes with his family and was always ready with a pair of dice in his pocket. George lived in Woodridge in Scottsville since 1965.

George is survived by his brother, Joe Roach and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Thacker Brothers Funeral Home in Scottsville is handling the arrangements. A family night will be held at the Thacker Brother's Scottsville Funeral Home  from 6:00 pm-7:00 pm on Sunday, December 18, 2022 and the graveside service will be held at Scottsville Cemetery, 400 Hardware Street, Scottsville, Virginia 11:00 am on Monday, December 19, 2022.
