Glenna Atlee Moore, 96, of Schuyler, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 1, 2025, at Albemarle Health and Rehab after a lengthy illness.
She was born on May 5, 1929, in Schuyler, a daughter of the late James Robert and Glenna Sevilla (Smith) Moore.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kimball P. Moore; brothers, Franklin Moore, Robert Moore, and Jimmy Moore; sisters, Ruby Wyland, Jane Broske, Christine “Tina” Brown, Ann Corbin, and Gloria O’Brien.
Mrs. Moore worked many years at Stromberg Carlson and Comdial and lived a productive life after retirement. She was a long-time, faithful member of New Faith United Methodist Church and established the local food bank, joyfully serving 27 families every month for 20 years.
Surviving are her devoted children, Robert Shelton Moore (Patti) of Ruckersville, and Dixie Moore Scott of Schuyler; grandchildren, Dustin Scott and Sandra Gardiner; great-grandchildren, Alaina and Grant Gardiner; and many nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service will be held at Rock Spring United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Gayle and the staff of Albemarle Health and Rehab for the care provided over the past four years, and Hospice of the Piedmont for making her transition as easy as possible.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association or Nelson County Food Bank.
