Gloria Ann Sprouse, age 56, of Scottsville, passed away on June 17, 2021. She was born on January 8, 1965, in Charlottesville, VA. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Donald Sprouse, Sr., daughter, Jennifer Lam, brother, Joseph Lam, stepmother, Jacqueline Sprouse, stepfather, Roy Sprouse, sisters-in-law, Rosa Hensley, Sandra Hagee, and Angie Lam; and many aunts and uncles.
Gloria is survived by her daughter, Lucresser Hernandez and her husband, Neftali; son, William Sprouse, Jr. and his wife, Tiffany; sisters, Linda Shifflett and Rebecca Smith; brother, Jonah Lam; grandchildren, Alexander Sprouse, Gabriel Sprouse, Lauren Sprouse, Bentley Sprouse, Neftali Sprouse, and Nathaniel Hernandez; nieces, Lynia Teran Lopez and family, Jessica Mejia and children, and Felicia Londeree; nephews, Steven Sprouse, Courtney Watson and children, James Gentry and family, and Michael Gentry and family; and cousin, Delta Gibson and family.
Gloria had, over the span of her life, been a loving, caring, and nurturing woman. She was a great mechanic and an animal lover. She took in many family members as well as many who were not related to her. She had an open door for anyone who was in need. She was a mother figure for Steven Sprouse, James Gentry, Lynia Teran Lopez, among many others. She helped many people along the way and has left her mark on them all.
The family would like to extend thanks to Hospice of the Piedmont for taking such good care of Gloria. They would also like to thank Steven Sprouse, James Gentry, Ada Evens, Karleen Brown, and others that have contributed to her funeral, arrangements, burial, and other acts of kindness. The family offers sincere apologies to anyone who we have accidentally failed to recognize.
A funeral service will be conducted 1:00 pm on Friday, July 2,2021 at Thacker Brothers Scottsville Funeral Home. Pastor Harlin "Chubby" Sykes will be officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 12:00 pm-1:00 pm, Friday, July 2, 2021 at Thacker Brothers Scottsville Funeral Home.
Interment will immediately follow the service in Oakwood Cemetery, Charlottesville.
All service attendees must wear a facial mask unless fully vaccinated.
