Obituary
Harald Aasland, 81, of Palmyra passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2023.
Harald was born on Friday, March 20, 1942 in Oslo, Norway, a son of the late Thor and Berit Olsen.
After his military service, Harald graduated from Gøteborg Technical Institute with a degree for automotive engineering. While he enjoyed his engineering work, he loved music and spending time in the great outdoors. He immigrated with his family to America in 1979 and moved to Virginia in 1992.
Harald is survived by his devoted wife, Liv Aasland; 3 sons, Terie (Valerie), Morten (Annika), and Lars (Kim); a brother, Thor and his family; 4 grandchildren, Kari, Niki, Sonja, and Magnus; and a host of family and friends that will remember him fondly.
Per Harald’s wishes, no services will be held. However, those who wish to pay respects may do so by making a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association in his honor.
