Hazel Lee (Jones) Coles

Hazel Lee Jones Coles, 86, of Scottsville passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2024, at home surrounded by her family.

She was born July 18, 1937, in Charlottesville, the daughter of the late Charley Samuel Jones and Claude Virginia Allen Jones.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Abraham Coles, two sons, Stanley Jones and Patrick Coles, three sisters and two brothers.

Hazel is survived by her loving, dependable daughter who was her caregiver until the end, Florine Coles; two sons, Carl Jones and Robert Coles, eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Hazel was a member of Morning Valley Baptist Church which sets on the family property. She had the biggest heart and most affectionate smile. She loved watching soap operas, especially Days of Our Lives and cooking.

She attended Buckingham County School System.  

Hazel was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease, and they would like to thank Davita of Charlottesville. The family would also like to thank Hospice of The Piedmont for their care.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Thacker Brothers Scottsville Funeral Home with Reverend Joe Chambers officiating.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
