JoEllen Dunklee

JoEllen Dunklee passed away on December 20, 2024, at the age of 82. She is now reunited with her husband, who preceded her in death in 2023. JoEllen’s life was one of love, joy, and service, and she leaves behind a legacy of kindness and a deep appreciation for the beauty in both music and history.

Born and raised in Queens, New York, JoEllen moved to Long Island to raise her family. Her love for music was evident throughout her life, and she was an active participant in many choirs, often lending her beautiful voice to others in celebration and worship.  She was also a teacher, enriching the lives of children throughout her career.

JoEllen and her husband later retired to Palmyra, Virginia, where she found joy in exploring the area’s history, working at the Thomas Jefferson House at Monticello, and developing lasting friendships that enriched her life.

She was deeply grateful for the many wonderful friends who shared in her journey here on earth.

A celebration of JoEllen's life will be held on March 2, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM in the banquet room at Bunker Bistro, 51 Bunker Blvd Palmyra Va. Family and friends are invited to come together to honor her memory. 

Rest in peace, JoEllen (mom). You will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
