Jonathan Miller Shelton

 Jonathan Miller Shelton (Jon), 47, of Charlottesville, Virginia, departed this world peacefully on February 5, 2025.

He was born on April 21, 1977 in Charlottesville, Virginia and spent his early and adolescent life growing up in Scottsville, Virginia.  He is preceded in death by his mother, LouAda Perdue Shelton, and father, Brandon Lee Shelton of Scottsville.

Jon was passionate about training and studying martial arts, of which he was proficient in several styles.  He loved music, whether he was listening to, or playing it and he especially enjoyed spending time with friends and family.  He also enjoyed spending time outdoors with his dog, Zuko.  Jon was also a member of the Masonic Lodge and embodied the tenets of belief in a Supreme Being, a man of good character and reputation, a peaceful citizen, and one who respects genuine brotherhood and the general good of society.

He is survived by his long-term and much-loved girlfriend Kat, sisters Shawn and Katherine, his brother Brandon, two sons, Collin and Nathan, and numerous friends.

To know Jon was to know laughter, love, and friendship.  Jon was a constant source of light and positivity with his friends and family.  He was the life of any party and anyone who spent time with him was guaranteed to laugh at least once while in his presence. 

Jon’s dedication to his friends and family was evident. It is apparent by the number of people impacted by his passing how much he meant to every person fortunate enough to know him. While Jon may no longer be with us physically, if you smile when remembering him, he is with you.

A graveside service and Masonic honors will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 10, 2025, at Christ Church Glendower, 900 Glendower Rd. in Scottsville, Virginia, by the Rev. Anne West.
